Our worst-case design philosophy ensures that, whatever the system loading, the required resources will always be available to the caller – the application designer does not have to worry about quality of service. Furthermore, new services can be developed, tested and implemented without taking systems off-line. Programming languages are industry standard – for example the NODAL language used on the fastSSP and fastSCP is based on a subset of ‘C’, ensuring that service development and execution have a safe and secure environment.
Our customers therefore have the tools and the flexibility to implement their own applications. On the fast SSP for example, the service developer has the ability to detect DTMF commands, play announcements, interrogate and control signalling parameters and set up multi-party calls – the range of applications that can run on Ocean is limited only by the imagination.
