Career Progression

We have a regular review process to ensure that our employees’ development is proceeding well in all areas. These reviews can be ideal occasions to explore training needs or discuss ways to help broaden an employee’s knowledge to further specialise in a particular area, creating opportunities for employees to develop as professional experts, managers or to move to alternative roles.
Graduate Trainees
The company has a policy of recruiting a number of graduate trainees every year. We look for outstanding individuals (typically holding A grades at A-level) with a strong interest in computers and software, energy and enthusiasm, good communicative skills and a ‘can-do’ attitude. Preferred degree subjects are Electronic Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics or related disciplines.
Telsis has its reputation for being fast because its engineers work quickly, develop fast solutions and always meet deadlines. On joining Telsis, you will enjoy learning how to develop products rapidly and see them quickly being used by customers.
Rowan Pulford joined Telsis in 1991 after graduating in electronics from Southampton University. He contributed to a variety of projects and by 1996 was a Team Leader. Today he is a Consultant Engineer.

Training and Career Development
We believe that the best way to learn new skills is by applying your existing skills from your first day. You will learn how to deliver high quality solutions to complex projects quickly and on time, how to guarantee that real time multi-tasking embedded software always works and how to work quickly and effectively with other employees.
Each graduate joins a group which reflects his or her personal interests and strengths. Each group has a manager/team leader who is responsible for the graduate’s day-to-day training, support, external courses and management.

Training
Training and development is provided by group managers, supported by in-house seminars describing many facets of the company’s operation. External courses and conferences provide training in management and technical skills as appropriate.
