This course introduces the Programme Definition Language (PDL), the language used to create services for the fastIP. This introductory-level course provides a comprehensive introduction to PDL and its applications.

Advanced PDL

Introduction

This course is aimed at Ocean fastIP voice services developers with programming needs that go beyond the basics. Configuring Ocean Units

Introduction

The aim on this course is to provide the delegates with the ability to install and configure an Ocean Service node to use the Ocean Control Protocol (OCP) suite of programmes.

This course covers the three configurations of a service node, namely the fastSSP & fastSCP, fastIP & fastSCP, and fastSSP, fastSCP & fastIP.

The course is split into four sections, the first three sections covering the configuration of the fastSSP, fastIP and fastSCP within the service node and the fourth section detailing the Connect to Resource configuration of the service node.

Each section is followed by exploration exercises and practical exercises.

SMS Router Operations

Introduction

The SMS Router Operations course is designed to introduce the delegate to the concepts of Short Message Service (SMS) routing and the management and configuration principles involved.

This course provides an opportunity for the delegate to explore each of the applications that we use to manage and configure the SMS Router.

The course focuses on how to use the management tools to rapidly identify, contain and solve problems.

The Ocean Management course is designed to introduce the delegate to the Ocean equipment

The first half of the course focuses on Platform Manager, which is used to manage the fastSSP, fastSCP and fastIP.

The three platforms are covered as separate topics, each with exploration exercises followed by practical tasks. Particular attention is paid to system diagnostics and common maintenance issues.

The second half of the course covers service and switch management using Deploy, Portfolio and Route. Particular emphasis is given to service diagnostics.

The SMS Router Maintenance course is designed to introduce the delegate to the network procedures performed on the SMS Router.

The second half of the course covers service and switch management using Deploy, Portfolio and Route. Emphasis is given to service diagnostics.

The course focuses on how to maintain the equipment using the software platforms and tools to rapidly identify, contain and resolve problems.

Ocean fastSSP Maintenance

Introduction

This course introduces the fastSSP maintenance principles from an external view, explains the component layout in the units and shelves and discusses cable connection details showing the LAN, E1, fibre-optic and miscellaneous cabling to and within the cabinet.

The removal process of component cards is discussed, pointing out the mechanical and management process undertaken to remove or replace cards. A practical exercise takes the delegate through the re-creation and analysis of various trunk-based Problem Determination.
